Wisconsin State Fair exhibit tours [sound recording], 1958.

Recorded tours to two exhibits at the 1958 Wisconsin State Fair. On Reel 1 is a tour of the building "Wisconsin at Work" and interviews with Walter Dunn and Patricia McGinnis of the State Historical Society of Wisconsin staff relating to the "Cavalcade of Wisconsin Industry," August 19, 1958. On Reel 2 is a tour of the building housing homemakers' exhibits and demonstration booths, August 20, including interviews with 4-H Club members and county home demonstration agents.

The first Wisconsin State Fair was held in Janesville in October 1851, sponsored by the State Agricultural Society. From 1851 to 1885, the fair was held at different locations. Milwaukee was the site from 1886 to 1891, and in this last year a permanent site was purchased there. West Allis, in Milwaukee County, continues to be the fair's home.
